Honestly one of the best veterinary teams I’ve ever met! Oscar has been working with Melissa & Lorelei for a couple of months now and his progress has been incredible! The team there are so kind, gentle and friendly with Oscar (and the people!) and he’s a dog that normally doesn’t like that type of setting, but he’s really comfortable at his appointments. It’s been so great to see his improvements with Butterwick and I’d easily recommend the place to anyone who’s dog is in need :)

Fantastic! Butterwick have helped us and our Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Roxie, following her spinal surgery. The staff are all very frriendly and brilliant with reactive dogs. They always check to make sure the waiting area is clear for us to enter/leave our private room. Roxie has been using the treadmill for hydrotherapy and has had physio sessions too whereby we are given home exercises to follow up with. The exercises are realistic and effective. Roxie’s now back walking and living a normal life again (someth...

When Millie, our four-year-old Sprocker Spaniel, underwent a complete hip replacement, we contacted Butterwick to discuss her recovery plan. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Emma at reception, who was brilliant at calming and reassuring Millie—no small feat, as she is often wary and nervous in unfamiliar environments. Mark then carried out a thorough assessment of Millie’s condition, taking the time to understand her stage of recovery, her fitness level prior to surgery, and our own hopes for her future. He recommended a course of hydrotherapy sessions, supplemented with occasional physiotherapy assessments, and provided clear guidance on exercise routines we could follow at home to support Millie’s progress. We were struck by Mark’s caring and professional approach. At no point did we feel pressured into making decisions about her treatment plan; it was evident throughout that Millie’s recovery was the team’s top priority. The facilities at Butterwick are excellent, with a spacious physiotherapy studio and well-equipped hydrotherapy rooms. Millie genuinely enjoys her visits, thanks to the staff who always take the time to welcome and reassure her. We’ve also had hydrotherapy sessions with Lorelei and Melissa, both of whom have been equally professional and attentive, making the experience effective and enjoyable for Millie. Several months on from her surgery, we are delighted to see Millie’s recovery (now approaching 100%) thanks to the dedication and expertise of the Butterwick team. Beyond the outstanding medical care, the administrative process has been seamless. Booking appointments is straightforward, with confirmation emails and calendar entry files that make scheduling easy to manage. Emma also handles our veterinary insurance claims with efficiency and care, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Any pet owner will understand the fear and anxiety experienced following medical issues with their animals, and I can’t recommend Butterwick highly enough for their expertise and genuine care.

Wow what an amazing place. Apollo had been recovering from a tplo surgery after a torn crucial ligament he also suffers from a lot of nerves and anxiety which caused us lots of worry about getting him into physio and hydro and wether it would actually possible. However Melissa at Butterwick has been absolutely amazing with him. The first session he was absolutely petrified and now he goes in wagging. Everything’s been taken at Apollos pace with adjustments made to ensure it’s as positive as possible for him everyon...
